I present you what will be my next remix, based on the original single “Chaneque” by my friends from Sonido Gallo Negro. In this track I wanted to pay homage to the ‘80s emblematic Lucha Libre and TV personality, the Mexican people’s dearest Chaneque: “Alushe” the Mayan elf; the loyal companion of the luchador “Tinieblas”, with whom he formed the duo with his adventures in his shows, TV series and including comic books, the childhood of all of us who grew up in the ‘80s.

This musical piece is a bridge between two totally different eras being connected through music, taking us on a psychedelic ride directly to the next Dia de Muertos party dance floor. The vocoder’s verses and chorus simulate a vibrato similar to that of “Alushe”, while the message encourages us to keep moving forward during this difficult time of uncertainty. The resonance of my remix is a mix of Gallo Negro’s retro touch of Cumbia “Chicha”, fused with modern electronic elements such as claps, vocoders, subsonic bass, in addition to ingredients of cumbia “Wepa”, which fuses “Norteño” Mexican music like the güiro, keyboards, and accordion which was recorded by Izadora, a French music producer from Toulouse.
